Medical disclaimer

bjjdissection.org is educational only. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. The site is built and maintained by an injury survivor, not a clinician. Registry case reports and survivor stories are lived experience: they describe what happened to specific people and must not be read as guidance for your situation.

This site will never tell you it is safe to return to training. Decisions about diagnosis, treatment, activity, and returning to contact sports belong to you and your own medical team. If you have warning-sign symptoms — sudden severe head or neck pain, a drooping eyelid with a small pupil, one-sided weakness or numbness, vision loss, slurred speech, or pulsatile tinnitus — call emergency services now.

Privacy policy

The registry is anonymous by design

The case submission form has no fields for names, birth dates, exact injury dates, gym names, or locations more specific than country or US state. Ages are collected as ranges and injury dates as month-and-year only. Every submission is held in a private moderation queue and reviewed by a human, who removes any identifying detail that appears in free-text answers before anything is published.

Submitter email

Leaving an email with your case is optional. If you do, it is used only to verify your report. It is never displayed anywhere, never included when case data is exported, and never shared. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time and it will be removed while your anonymized case remains.

Rate limiting and spam protection

To keep automated spam out of the registry, submissions are rate-limited. This uses a one-way salted hash derived from your connection address; the address itself is never stored.

No tracking on registry pages

Registry pages load no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. We do not use advertising, tracking pixels, or social media embeds on them.
